Dear Mr. Firth,

In November 2020, we were able to do a vanity upgrade with new lights and electrical in our upstairs bathroom. We contracted with Total Home Improvements, Inc. to do the upgrade. We were very pleased with the work that was done. Special points were:

1. Our project manager, Greg Rankin, always made us feel that our project, although it was a small one, was very important. He was very concerned that everything was done right and that it was done the way that I wanted it to be done. A couple times I had questions and he took care of them right away. He did an excellent job of interacting with the companies that we had hired to supply the vanity and the stone for the countertop. He did a great job of keeping me informed about the status of the project by phone and by email. We really appreciated his efforts.

2. The office personnel that I talked with were very helpful.

3. All the personnel that came in and out of the house, were very friendly, considerate and professional. This was especially appreciated as we were online schooling with our three grandchildren during the construction.

We are very happy with our upgraded bathroom. We are doing upgrades in our 50 year old house a small project at a time. We will definitely call Total Home Improvements, Inc. to do our next construction project.

Sincerely,

Ruth Ann C.

This was our 2nd time we used Total Home Improvements to do some major work in our home. 13 years ago they put up a few walls on the first level and reconfigured our upstairs recreation space and painting. No regrets at all. This past couple of months we had them redo our Master bedroom, additional window installed, flex space off our master and a complete master bath remodel, and all common hallways and stairway custom 60-inch wainscoting with photo shelving and painting of all areas renovated and new toilet installed in hall bathroom. Painted front porch and replaced pillar and handrails. EXCELLENT from initial planning meeting to the completion of this project. Every single member of Total home was helpful, respectful, and worked as if they were working on their own home to get the best outcome. My vision was achieved and the quality is outstanding. Now that this project is complete, plans for our next phase have begun.

Good Morning,

I just wanted to take a moment of your time to let you know that we are extremely happy with the work you did on our son’s home located at 2069 Yacht Club Road in Hayes VA.

In the beginning we had planned to do the work and there was no rush as we are staying with our son till our house is being built. Then the neighbor found out we were planning to sell the house she wanted to buy it ASAP, well we told her we had to stay till our house was ready to move into, with the interest rates so low she agreed to let us stay and rent but she wanted to close.

With all this said, we knew some things had to be done before the appraiser saw them. AND …

Kenny Brown and Neil Firth, wow, they did an amazing job. Both professional and accommodating, and Randy one of the owners even stopped by to see us on a Sunday, that is dedication! Whoever you had to fix the ceiling in the master bedroom, Now I have to say, AMAZING!!! You can’t even see where the hole was, (a skylight had been removed) and it was a huge hole. And Kristi Rogers was so sweet and patient with us, as the new owner wanted to pick the colors of kitchen counters etc.

Long story short, I just wanted you to know that I would most definitely recommend your company to anyone looking to do repairs or additions or just to build a home.

An extremely satisfied customer,

Charlene Stanaway, Yorktown

Victory Church Reference Letter

To Whom It May Concern:

Please receive this letter of recommendation for the outstanding work that Total Home Improvement completed for our church. After a series of three months decisionmaking our board of directors and our executive staff decided to embark on an incredible renovation project. Our quarter million project entailed retrofitting a commercial grade preschool building into our existing church structure.

In theory, this sounded like a great idea yet in practice it was a very difficult project. We needed a construction company that understood our preschool renovation needs for a 10-15 year life cycle. We envisioned that our preschool would be built to the
commercial standards of the Goddard School or the Primrose School franchises. We hired a preschool director from Houston, Texas who previously led a Primrose School and was familiar with the high standards we were leaning towards. What was lacking was our physical structure.

When our project went to public bid Total Home Improvement continued to surface as the champion.

Total Home Improvement not only met but exceeded our wildest expectations. We needed a retrofitted commercial grade preschool demoed and constructed in 45 days and ready for September. We knew July and August would be busy. Given these restrains Total Home Improvement was phenomenal. They gave us a timeline and a production schedule that they followed with military precision. The quality of work and craftsmanship that they presented was over and above that of Goddard or Primrose. What struck me about Total Home Improvement was their reason and common sense. Their management and construction teams we’re so easy to work with and so comfortable that I left for a 14 day vacation in the middle of the project. I didn’t even think twice about their level of professionalism and what the promised finished product would look like.

Upon returning from my vacation I was completely blown away by the attention to detail, quality of construction, and the care of the decision-making process. Multiple times I heard the management team say, “We are building a preschool that my children
would attend”. Our parents and our staff love the look and feel of the newly branded Victory School and they should, because, it’s a beautiful school.

As a strategic and visionary pastor my suggestion to you would simply be this –- Stop your search process, hire total home-improvement, and wait to be amazed at what your building will look like. Because I was and every day I continue to be, well, simply amazed. You will not be disappointed with Total Home Improvement.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Re: Project at Hampton, VA

I am writing to tell you what a terrific job Total Home Improvement did on the recent conversion of my attached 2-car garage into a “Doggie Family Room” for my two service dogs and all the little rescue dogs that make up my canine family. I had originally talked with your representatives at the Hampton Roads Convention Center Home and Garden Show earlier this year. At that time I made an appointment to have one of your designers come to my home to talk about the project.

Well I really lucked out to get Frank Griffin on my project! He has dogs so he understood my concerns and desires about the project. Additionally he made really great suggestions such as the use of a mini-split for heating and cooling as well as others that would contribute to the comfort of my dogs and my ease of use of the room as I age. He never laughed when I asked for something strange like putting the electrical outlets 4 ft up on the wall so that the dogs couldn’t get caught up in any electrical cords.

Then things got even better when I was assigned Greg Rankin as the project manager. I have had contractors work on 5 different homes that I have owned over the years. But Greg was by far the best project manager I have ever worked with. When we met to go over things, I asked that he let me know when workers would be here so that I could be sure that everything was ready for them and that the dogs would not be in anyone’s way.

Greg’s communication skills are excellent -I knew by 8 AM every morning via text what to expect that day and what the next day would bring. If I had any questions or concerns I always knew that he would answer my texts. Considering that I have a FT teaching position at TNCC and that it was the end of the semester, you cannot imagine how much easier this communication made things for me as the homeowner.

Additionally Greg’s attention to detail is superlative! The little things that he did to make the new room “owner and dog friendly” -such as placing the new cabinets
just right on the wall so that I could fit a grooming table at one end -were very much appreciated.

As a course coordinator myself supervising other faculty, I know how important it is to keep things on schedule. Well Greg made sure that the project moved right along. I was very impressed as on previous projects with other firms I have had times when things dragged out for weeks before the next step got done, but not on this job! My friends and neighbors were amazed.

So I wanted you to know how great the team was and how much better the finished project has made my life and that of my dogs- it exceeded my expectations. The right people make all the difference!

Because I kept telling all my friends at TNCC what a great job you all were doing, I am happy that one of my very good friends and colleagues has just signed a contract for THI to build her new house!

Many thanks for a project well done – THI certainly gets an “A” from me!

Dear sir:

I wish to express my appreciation for the excellent work by Mr. Donald Parsons and the entire THI crew on my recent home renovations. The project posed a number of challenges and required some creative thinking in order to keep within the budget limitations. Everything that was done works correctly and looks great. I was also delighted with the crew’s professionalism. They were prompt, efficient, courteous and pleasant at all times. They always let me know when they were arriving, showed up on time, did what they said they were going to do and cleaned up afterwards. They were willing to answer my questions and offer advice as needed. I have dealt with other home improvement organizations over the years and I appreciate how rare this is. I would happily recommend THI to anyone and in fact I have already done so!

Dear Mr. Firth,

Your company built an addition for us in Hampton, VA. We were very pleased with our experience with your company, particularly with Greg Rankin who was the Project Manager on our addition. We did not get a chance to meet you personally, but your company was well represented by Greg. He was professional, friendly, and always available during the whole project. He came up with several innovative ideas to address different situations. We still comment to each other on how pleased we are with the built-in shelves that he came up with to replace the window. We are also very happy with the paint color that he suggested when we were uncertain what to pick. It was obvious to us that his crews respected and liked him. Under his guidance, we always felt very comfortable with the work crews that came out. You are probably already aware of his value to your company, but we still wanted to give testament to that. We plan to give thanks to all of the other great folks and crews in our on line review. Because of Greg and his work crews, our addition turned out even more beautiful than we anticipated.

Thank you,

Ray and Janie W

I just want to say that this was not the first project that we had this company do. Our first project was my home and it was a total gut job and they were absolutely marvelous. On this new job there was a basement on this home and the only way to access tit was to go outside the side door and go down some cinder block stairs. The house had only 2 bedrooms and the only way that we could have entry to the basement was to add an addition and put the stairs inside the home. The job was a massive undertaking and the workers were knowledgeable and proficient in their areas of expertise. They were professional all the time. The lead foreman Doug was excellent. He was on the case and he spoke with me every day to let me know what was going to be done and who was going to be at the house. I wish there was some way to show you the before and after pictures of this home because the transformation is nothing short of astonishing. All of the staff at this company is a joy to work with and I would recommend them in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, before the guys left today I informed them that I will be using them again very shortly for another project. They were open and up front about cost and were able to save me on my parts of the project without compromising the quality of the materials that they used. And I must say there is absolutely no shortage of quality of the material that they used. I can’t thank them enough or give them a better review than what I have said. Once again thank you THI and I look forward to using your company again.
